Your Referral

As a Specialist Surgical practice, we are predominantly referral-based. All referrals are subject to a review and approval process and in some cases we may require further information from your referring practitioner or GP before arranging an appointment.

For oral surgery and oral pathology, skin cancer surgery, TMJ and orthognathic (jaw correction surgery) consultations, you will require a valid referral from a registered medical or dental practitioner. A referral in these circumstances may allow you to claim a medicare rebate for some of the costs associated with consultation and surgical fees.

Please note that we do not accept referrals for general dental care or routine dental treatment (fillings, scale and clean etc).

Please also note that we do not routinely review public patients in the practice, or facilitate booking directly to the public hospital wait list. If you wish to be treated on a public hospital list, you will need to be assessed in a public hospital outpatient or oral health clinic. Certain eligibility criteria apply and you should discuss this with your referring practitioner.

For Facial Aesthetic Surgery, you may not always be eligible to claim a medicare rebate. In some circumstances (skin lesion excision, rhinoplasty/nose surgery due to previous trauma or airway obstruction), a rebate may be applicable with a current, valid referral; our team will be able to clarify this for you.

At present, we are not offering Tele-health appointments, and you will need to attend for your first consult in-person.

A referral form can be downloaded below and completed by your referring practitioner. Once your referral is reviewed and an appointment is confirmed, our team will contact you to arrange for you to complete a patient registration form.

For urgent referrals, due to demand for appointments we operate a waitlist system, and our clinic will contact you to offer an appointment when this becomes available.

If you require more information, please contact our administration team to discuss further.
