About my first appointment for Facial Aesthetic Surgery

Your first appointment will involve a thorough assessment, and may also include clinical photography as well as discussion of any other investigations required. With the exception of skin cancer surgery, a minimum of two appointments are required before proceeding with any facial aesthetic surgery, to ensure you are well-informed of all aspects of the procedure and post-operative care as well as any risks associated.

Dr Armstrong prides himself on always listening carefully to patients’ concerns and requests, providing a thorough and un-biased assessment, taking the time to understand your goals and objectives, and undertaking surgery with a meticulous and methodical approach. He has a focus on providing realistic and natural-looking results, and will always give an honest opinion. In some circumstances he may recommend alternative options, a second opinion or on-referral, or in some cases he may recommend against having surgery altogether.

Dr Armstrong has advanced training and experience in facial aesthetic surgery, having trained with some of Europe’s leading Rhinoplasty, Oculoplastic and Facial Plastic Surgeons. After completing specialist training in Australia, he travelled to the UK to complete a 12-month Facial Deformity Fellowship at St George’s Hospital, London. In addition, he has extensive experience in Facial Trauma and cancer reconstructive surgery and skin cancer surgery, which have provided the solid foundation and skillset required on which to build his proficiency, careful judgement and eye for detail with facial aesthetic surgery.

Dr Armstrong holds a specialist surgical fellowship, as well as membership with both the Australasian Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery, and the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery, and regularly attends international courses and meetings to further his knowledge and skill-set in the most up-to-date surgical techniques.
